One Hell of a Week

February 6th, 2010 under Tipsy-Turvy · 2 Comments

Monday marked the conclusion of our C++ subject and hurray — no MP (geeky term for “project”). As a commemoration, I ate out at Kyusinero ’round Kalayaan Avenue with two classmates. Buckets kept coming and soon we moved to Sangkalan at Q Ave where we karaoke~d on stage. Home @ 4:00?

As for Wednesday… Ate isaw behind the UP College of Law and proceeded to Sarah’s at Krus na Ligas. The presence of a classmate who rarely comes about triggered the lines, “Just two bottles” and “We’ll be off early.” Naturally, they were defied. We even went to Khuya’s at Cubao for good rounds of singing. Home at 4:00.

For Friday, we dined at Panciteria in Maginhawa and then tasted Pino Bar’s Margarita which eventually led to a few lights and smuggled Boy Bawang. Home at 2:00.

How do you look at me now? I’m afraid this is just the beginning of the wonders of being young…

UTI Makes Me Croak

December 18th, 2009 under Tipsy-Turvy · 2 Comments

After yesterday’s Christmas Party at school (where the exchanging of gifts became possible out of nowhere), we went to Tomas Morato to seek more entertainment. Naturally, we ended up in a videoke room. Man, how I miss disco-ing… Anyway, the liquor’s still there so the heck it’s absolutely fine. My throat was already burning hot because of hard coughing even before I started to gulp. I sang like, only two songs and the room was filled with lots’a people (yeah, surprisingly). We called it a night by four and I was already sounding like a frog by that time. Our Japanese teacher even said that I have a UTI; defined as Upper Throat Infection.

The following day I got up at 3:00 and took off for the Lantern Parade an hour later. It has already begun and just as we arrived at the oval, our institution (or whatever you call it) was nearing by. I was spotted by my fellow classmates and so we eagerly joined. It was worth the time. Watching one lantern after another didn’t bore me at all, especially when the Fine Arts studs entered the scene. Fate exhibited its cruelty on me as my battery emptied just as I was planning to take pictures ’til the end. And oh-ho-ho! The fireworks display made me realize that I can die already. Hail to the sponsors!

After watching the magnificent display I accompanied my classmate to meet her roommates. After she left, I wanted to be alone and perhaps just take a few steps away from everyone’s happy faces. But no, I still found myself mingling with my classmates and even having dinner with them. Nonetheless, the despicable melancholy was somehow lifted. We left KFC around past two. No beers for tonight, boys (which is good, since my throat spells a capital N and O haha).
